Find answers to some of the frequently asked questions about Our Service.
Shared hosting is ideal to get a website up and running quick, you get a full control panel to manage all your needs at the click of a button.
A VPS (virtual private server) is like a small dedicated server, you manage the entire operating system and can chose what software you want to install but the resources are not always dedicated to you, some limitations apply to CPU time and disk reads and writes.
A dedicated server is a whole physical server, it is much like a VPS but with more power and all resources are 100% dedicated to you.
In most cases the answer is yes, you can upgrade as you go however it is sometimes a bit complex to switch from a shared hosting plan to a virtual server or a virtual server to a dedicated server, we can help you with that though.
As a general rule as long as you are not impacting others then you will not be restricted however as a guide line we ask that you do not average over 60% of a CPU core/thread for more than 24 hours on average or 100% of a core/thread for more than 1 hour.
All shared hosting plans have nightly and weekly backups, for Virtual Private Servers and Dedicated servers you are responsible for your own backups unless you are on a fully managed plan, UK Pure SSD plans have a daily backup of all customer data however this is for disaster recovery purposes only e.g. raid failure, disk failure or loss of customer data through any other 'disaster' scenario.
